Dr. Daisuke Kiriya is an associate professor at the University of Tokyo. He started his laboratory in April 2022. His research interests are chemical/physical/electrical/quantum functions at the interface of organic and inorganic systems. The research field includes chemistry, materials science, nanoelectronics, and low-dimensional semiconductor devices for the exploration of electronic/optical/quantum functionalities in nanomaterials.
He obtained his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the School of Engineering at Kyoto University, Japan, in 2004, 2006, and 2009, respectively, under Professors Susumu Kitagawa and Ho-Chol Chang. From 2009 to 2011, he served as an assistant professor under Professor Shoji Takeuchi at the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo. In 2012, he joined the University of California-Berkeley, EECS as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow under Professor Ali Javey. In 2016, he joined Osaka Prefecture University as an assistant professor (tenure-track) and associate professor in 2020, working with Professor Norifumi Fujimura. From 2022, he served as an associate professor at the University of Tokyo.
